GREEN Hydrogen mobility for the transition to climate neutrality

B&T Composites participates in the LIFE GREENH2ORN project, which aims to advance green hydrogen mobility and sustainable transport solutions in the region of Kozani, Greece.

The project will establish Greece’s first hydrogen refueling station with on-site green hydrogen production, supporting the transition to zero-emission urban mobility.


B&T Composites contributes high-pressure hydrogen storage systems based on lightweight carbon fiber composite materials. These systems support innovative hydrogen transport and storage solutions, including high-pressure tube-trailers.


LIFE GREENH2ORN demonstrates how green hydrogen can contribute to the decarbonization of transport, supporting cleaner air, reduced emissions, and the development of a regional hydrogen ecosystem.

IndustriSphere Digital Twins

B&T Composites participates in the IndustriSphere Digital Twins project, which focuses on the digital transformation of industrial manufacturing through the development of Digital Twin technologies.

By integrating technologies such as 3D scanning, Augmented Reality (AR), Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), the project enables real-time monitoring, simulation, and optimization of industrial production systems.


The B&T Composites facilities serve as a pilot environment for the implementation and validation of Digital Twin technologies in a real industrial setting. This allows the project to collect operational data, test advanced monitoring systems, and demonstrate the practical benefits of digital twins in manufacturing environments.

The project supports data-driven, efficient, and sustainable production, enabling predictive maintenance, improved process control, and enhanced operational decision-making. It also integrates Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) to monitor environmental performance and carbon footprint.

DEMOQUAS

Designing, Manufacturing and Operating Quantification of Uncertainties to increase Aviation Safety
Horizon Europe – Research and Innovation Action (Grant Agreement No. 101147454)

B&T Composites participates in the DEMOQUAS project, a European research initiative focused on improving the safety, efficiency, and reliability of future aviation systems by developing advanced methods for managing uncertainties in aircraft and engine design.

BTC contributes to the development and manufacturing activities of key components within the hydrogen pressure vessel demonstrator. The company also participates in testing and evaluation activities related to safety and performance, supporting the overall verification and validation process of the system. These activities contribute to assessing structural integrity, reliability and operational performance.

DEMOQUAS contributes to safer and more sustainable aviation while supporting the transition to cleaner propulsion systems compatible with hydrogen (H₂) and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).

B&T Composites Participation in the TEAMIT+ Program – “24h of Innovation”

B&T Composites participated in the European TEAMIT+ “24h of Innovation” program, an initiative dedicated to fostering innovation, structured collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The event was organized by CluBE – Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia and took place on December 4–5, 2025.


The “24h of Innovation” is an intensive, time-bound competition in which multidisciplinary teams are invited to develop sustainable, actionable solutions to real-world business challenges proposed by participating companies.

B&T Composites contributed to the program by introducing the challenge: “How can we make roads safer?”, encouraging participants to approach the topic through innovation, technological insight, and social responsibility.


Throughout the 24-hour process, students, organizational members, and business professionals collaborated in a structured hackathon environment, applying analytical thinking, innovation methodologies, and teamwork to design and present their solutions to the evaluation committee.


The program provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, skills development, and engagement with emerging talent, reinforcing B&T Composites’ commitment to innovation, collaboration, and solutions with measurable societal impact.

B&T Composites and Componous Present Research Work at the University of Western Macedonia

On Thursday, 4 December, B&T Composites and Componous presented their research work to final-year students of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia.


The presentation took place within the framework of the course Industrial Chemical Technologies, taught by Professor Konstantinos Kalogiannis, whom the companies sincerely thank for the invitation and the opportunity to engage with students.
